dc.description.abstract	The principle of the dignity of the human person, the foundation of the Democratic Rule of Law, permeates the entire Brazilian legal system, including consumer relations. Based on this first, the present research seeks to analyze consumer legislation with a focus on the update of the Consumer Protection Code given by law 14.181/21. This update promoted public policies, through practical tools to deal with the over-indebtedness of the Brazilian population with a focus on maintaining the existential minimum. The law of over-indebtedness contributed to the promotion of the dignity of the human person by protecting the over-indebted consumer from complete ruin by guaranteeing the existential minimum, however, it is important to emphasize the need to improve the legislation regarding the existential minimum in order to adapt the economic reality of the Brazilian population.	pt_BR

dc.description.resumo	O princípio da dignidade da pessoa humana, fundamento do Estado Democrático de Direito, permeia todo o ordenamento jurídico brasileiro, inclusive as relações de consumo. Baseado nesta primícia a presente pesquisa busca analisar a legislação consumerista com enfoque na atualização do Código de Defesa do Consumidor dada pela lei 14.181/21. Esta atualização promoveu políticas públicas, através de ferramentas práticas de tratamento do superendividamento da população brasileira com o foco na manutenção do mínimo existencial. A lei do superendividamento contribuiu para a promoção da dignidade da pessoa humana ao proteger o consumidor superendividado da ruína completa ao garantir o mínimo existencial, contudo e de salientar a necessidade de aperfeiçoamento da legislação quanto ao mínimo existencial buscando adequar a realidade econômica da população brasileira.	pt_BR
