REPERCUSSÕES SOCIAIS E DESAFIOS CONTEMPORÂNEOS DA EFETIVIDADE DA LEI MARIA DA PENHA

Abstract

This scientific work analyzes the phenomenon of domestic violence against women and its structural repercussions in society, with the primary objective of investigating the social and psychological impacts of this experience, as well as critically evaluating the effectiveness of protective measures and the strategic role of educational institutions in breaking this cycle of aggression. To this end, the methodology employed consisted of the deductive method, carried out through bibliographic research and document analysis, using the theoretical framework of doctrines, relevant legislation, and recent public safety statistics. The results of the study indicate that, despite the significant legal advances achieved and the sanctions imposed on aggressors, factors such as extreme financial subordination and profound emotional trauma still act as barriers that imprison victims in their homes. Furthermore, it was found that children and adolescents exposed to these hostile environments suffer severe biopsychosocial damage, tending to reproduce abusive attitudes or behaviors of extreme submission in adulthood. This dynamic perpetuates the transmission of dysfunctional patterns, creating an even more critical scenario in localities with high rates of gender-based violence. It is concluded, therefore, that the repressive and punitive state apparatus proves insufficient when applied in isolation. The effective deconstruction and interruption of this traumatic chain necessarily requires the active, preventive, and multidisciplinary action of the entire school.
